Description
Reporting to the Research Manager, the appointee will be required to (a) manage scientific research projects related to advanced textile materials and technologies, including but not limited to: advanced textile material development and processing, development of chemical treatment formulation for textiles/leather, textile decoloring and recycling and cellulosic material development; (b) monitor technical and financial aspects of projects and undergo other administrative tasks, such as preparing project updates and reports; (c) be responsible for conducting R&D activities, such as carrying out lab experiments, studying and summarizing research findings and development of prototypes; (d) work closely with R&D researchers and personnel; coordinate with local and overseas universities, research institutions and business partners, and handle enquiries in a professional manner; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirement
Applicants should (a) have a bachelor’s degree or above in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry or Textile Engineering; (b) have solid knowledge in dyeing and finishing, wet/melt spinning, natural and synthetic polymers processing, or textile recycling and sustainability is an advantage; (c) have two or more years of research/ relevant work experience, fresh graduates holding a master’s degree or PhD will also be considered; applicants with more experience will be considered for senior positions; (d) be highly-organized and capable of working under pressure with multi-task assignments; (e) have good interpersonal skills; and (f) be fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with good command of Putonghua being an advantage.
