[Appointment period: on 12-month contract]
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the appointee will be required to:
• be responsible for procurement of chemicals, consumables, laboratory equipment and other related materials, etc.;
• vet purchase requisitions and specifications of products/services to ensure costeffectiveness and compliance with the ITF Guidelines and other relevant procedures, rules and regulations;
• be responsible for vendors selection, quotations analysis, prices negotiation, purchase orders and monitoring of deliveries;
• assist in preparing tender documents and contracts;
• provide clerical and administrative support to the team in order to enhance research and commercialization activities of the Institute; and
• perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
• A recognised degree or above in Chemistry, Textile Technology, Laboratory Science or a related discipline;
• 3 years’ relevant experience in laboratory management, laboratory building services, electrical and mechanical services, etc.; • Familiar with the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS);
• A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal and problem solving skills;
• Independent and able to work under pressure;
• High proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing; and
• A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
• Applicants with lower qualification and/or less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Officer (Technical).
